Irish Trolls Birthday

I don’t believe inย luck. I believe in grace. God’s grace.

When bad things happen, it’s either a trial to make you stronger or a consequence of a mistake you made.

When good things happen, it’s God’s blessing and grace. And the good thing about grace, is that although we do not have control over it, or even deserve it, God gives it freely. So free and so abounding that it can overpower even the bad things and negatives. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nevertheless, we all know that the world, or the Irish, celebrates March 17 as St. Patrick’s Day. And you know what else is celebrated around this time of the year? Myย inaanak’s (god-child) birthday! ๐Ÿ™‚

So last March 15, my god-daughter Irish Freyja celebrated her 5th birthday in school and I was blessed with the opportunity to sponsor part of her birthday, as my gift to her. ๐Ÿ™‚

The theme was Trolls but since her name is Irish (taken after her father) and her birthday is around the Irish festival, Clovers had to be in the scene.

And so, here are the items her mom and I made:

1. Pop-up Invitation

We used scrapbook and glitter paper, and my Silhouette Cameo to cutout the grass and the clovers. We printed photos of Poppie and her mom cut them by hand (yeah, I haven’t fully learned how to do this print-then-cut thing in Cameo, sorry). Then we stuck them piece by piece on the pop-up resulting into these:

2. Irish Claddagh Awards

Irish wanted to give something special to her friends at school so her mother came up with the Claddagh Awards. They got unique descriptions of each classmate from Irish herself and her teacher and created paper medals for each.

Here we used dark green cardstock and gold glitter paper, Silhouette Cameo and punchers, and some gold ribbons.

3. Glow-stick Bracelets

Hug tiiiiime!ย You know how in the Trolls movie, they have bracelets that would glow from time to time so the trolls get to hug each other? Well, we couldn’t use glowing gems and flowers but we opted to use glow-sticks intead. And of course, still attach some flowers to them.

Don’t you just think they are pretty? I think so too! And it’s not because we made them. Ahihihi. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I love the photos too!

2016 Craft Swap

On a whim, I was invited.

On a whim, I said yes.

On a whim, I joined a Craft Swap.

And the experience has beenย overwhelming.

This happened last August-October 2016. I, together with 21 other crafters, participated in a Craft Swap just in time for Christmas.

We were asked to create two items each: (1) an item made of at least 5 popsicle sticks and 5 buttons, and (2) a Christmas ornament.

And here’s what Eclations made:

1. Love Christmas Wreath – made of green paper twine twisted into a circle to form the wreath, decorated with red rose and leaves and several buttons and gems.

2.Hang-It Popsie Decor – made of several popsicle sticks tied together to form a mini-blinds; decorated with a sentiment cut usting Silhouette Cameo 2, several buttons and gems.

I was really happy to receive positive feedback on these. But I was happier and more overwhelmed with the creativity of the other crafters who joined.

Here are photos of what the other crafters made:

Unfortunately I am unable to put links here at this time, marami kasi, but you can search the crafters’ names in Facebook and you can reach out to them if you find their works interesting. Some of them have their own fb pages and online business as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Dana especially loved the Christmas ornaments and hang them on our Christmas tree! It is such a joy and blessing to know you are surrounded by wonderful people who share your passion!

I really wish I had more time to create more and better items. I wanted to create something extra to give away but I didn’t make it to shipping cutoff. ย I will just do better next time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, I’ll definitely join again this year!

Silhouette Cameo: My First Time!

Yep! I’ve had my Silhouette Cameo for 3 months now and I still haven’t used it. Until tonight! And I am so happy, my excitement just won’t let me sleep!

I bought my Silhouette Cameo last May while I was on maternity leave (from miscarriage). I THOUGHT I would have lots of time to use and get my mind distracted and my heart at ease… but I thought wrong. I got too busy being a wife and mom, which is not all bad by the way, then before you know it, work happened.

But tonight, I was looking for a quickย cheat, I mean fix, for an upcoming project and decided to finally take my cameo out of the box.

And the rest is history. Haha.

Just kidding. Actually, history has yet to be made but I am really happy and excited about it. So much that I can no longer sleep. But I have to since I still have loads of stuff to do tomorrow.

So perhaps, I’ll just dream more of this tonight!

Happy Sunday!
