Pretty Easy Bridal Bouquet

Artificial flowers do not have roots but they too are pretty. Some fake flowers in fact, look real. Artificial flower bouquets have also become a trend among modern brides though they are more fondly called as “handmade flowers” (as majority are hand-crafted) than artificial or fake.

I for one, have created several bouquets already, though so far I’ve only played around with felt cloth/fabric and paper. I’ve tried making fabric flowers before but I found that they are quite tedious to make since they are often too soft or the edges run amd burning edges is not really my thing. :p

But a friend came to me this morning, requesting help — they needed a bouquet by Friday. I am busy with work lately and I know I won’t have the time to make them by hand and I am really really really glad she agreed to using artificial flowers instead. I honestly have been wanting to try this out and I am sooo glad I finally had an opportunity!

This project took me only 20 minutes to make.

Materials:

– Assorted artificial flowers bought from the mall

– Floral Wire

– Scrap Felt Cloth

– 1-inch Ribbon

Steps:

1. Arange the pieces of flowers according to your taste or choice of design.

2. Tie or bundle the flowers using a floral wire to ensure the pieces do not fall off.

3. Wrap the bundled stems of the bouquet with felt fabric.

4. Accentuate the handle with a ribbon.

Pretty easy right?

Eclations Babies

Babies? Angels? Staff? I really don’t know how to label them. But they are the very kind people who help me our and even take over when needed, in small or big projects that we get for our brand, Eclations.

And they are increasing.

Mind you, they do not really get paid as I hardly ever get paid, but they help out for the love of me, for the love of the craft.

Even my daughter’s “ate” (as she is like a daughter to me and not a nanny) has gone into flower-making and has recently come up with a bouquet of her own.

It’s nice seeing how they’ve turned into crafter when just months ago they couldn’t even cut a straight line. Haha.

And as I always joke them, at least now I have someone to transition eclations to, should there be a time that I would need to give up on this and focus on working. Hehe.

Irish Trolls Birthday

I don’t believe in luck. I believe in grace. God’s grace.

When bad things happen, it’s either a trial to make you stronger or a consequence of a mistake you made.

When good things happen, it’s God’s blessing and grace. And the good thing about grace, is that although we do not have control over it, or even deserve it, God gives it freely. So free and so abounding that it can overpower even the bad things and negatives. 😉

Nevertheless, we all know that the world, or the Irish, celebrates March 17 as St. Patrick’s Day. And you know what else is celebrated around this time of the year? My inaanak’s (god-child) birthday! 🙂

So last March 15, my god-daughter Irish Freyja celebrated her 5th birthday in school and I was blessed with the opportunity to sponsor part of her birthday, as my gift to her. 🙂

The theme was Trolls but since her name is Irish (taken after her father) and her birthday is around the Irish festival, Clovers had to be in the scene.

And so, here are the items her mom and I made:

1. Pop-up Invitation

We used scrapbook and glitter paper, and my Silhouette Cameo to cutout the grass and the clovers. We printed photos of Poppie and her mom cut them by hand (yeah, I haven’t fully learned how to do this print-then-cut thing in Cameo, sorry). Then we stuck them piece by piece on the pop-up resulting into these:

2. Irish Claddagh Awards

Irish wanted to give something special to her friends at school so her mother came up with the Claddagh Awards. They got unique descriptions of each classmate from Irish herself and her teacher and created paper medals for each.

Here we used dark green cardstock and gold glitter paper, Silhouette Cameo and punchers, and some gold ribbons.

3. Glow-stick Bracelets

Hug tiiiiime! You know how in the Trolls movie, they have bracelets that would glow from time to time so the trolls get to hug each other? Well, we couldn’t use glowing gems and flowers but we opted to use glow-sticks intead. And of course, still attach some flowers to them.

Don’t you just think they are pretty? I think so too! And it’s not because we made them. Ahihihi. 🙂

And I love the photos too!
